The design is a great example of how 2 dimensional plywood cuts can behave in a 3 dimensional manner. The armchair's tubular-like structure is obtained by coupling together various components with 90 degree rotations using simple half-lap joints.

Each component is sub-assembled by joining 2 plywood parts

Glue and clamps project, no nails & no screws!
